Their own photographThe whole house · to yourselves
In the Stanley family since the early 1800s, and rented whole by the week or the weekend. All the furnishings are original, the bathrooms are the genuine article, and the family that grew up here still promises you won't find a holiday home anywhere else like this.
01
Four very spacious bedrooms
Permanent beds for seven to eight, up to eleven with three extra beds, and a cot if you bring your own bedding. The original bathrooms have been kept for their charm, and you can’t beat their loo for a view.
02
A piano for family songs
If the weather is bad and you want to stay in, you’ll find squishy sofas, a library of books, board games and a warm hearth with a real fire. One family’s children found the piano so much fun that practising never went so well.
03
Ten cars on the gravel
Private parking for ten. They have had a fleet of wedding cars and a boat out there on occasion, though not at the same time. Hot water comes from the estate’s own wood biomass boiler in the woodyard, and there is plenty of it.
