Down to the water

Two permits, one tarn, friendly otters.

Two fishing permits give guests exclusive access to the estate’s coarse fishery at Witherslack Hall Tarn: carp, perch, bream, roach, pike, tench and rudd, and their own warning to watch out for the friendly otters.

Head out through the patio doors and through the secret gate, and see if you can spot the self service coffee bar hidden in the woods. Guests who want the gardens to themselves hang the gardens-closed sign that lives in the second drawer down in the hallway chest, and everybody understands.
